In this article, I'm going to share with you the PARTS OF SPEECH with examples.

PARTS OF SPEECH:

There are eight Parts of speech.

NOUN; The noun is the name of a person, place, or thing. e.g Sofia is my best friend.
Ali is playing the game.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
SOFIA, ALI, and APPLE are all nouns.
PRONOUN:
A word used in place of a noun.
E.g:
He is a good boy.
You are my best friend.
They are baking a cake for their birthday.
ADJECTIVE:
A word that describes a noun.
E.g:
Sara is a good girl.
You have a big house.
She is an old lady.
Good, big, and old are Adjectives.
VERB:

A word that shows actions.
E.g:
David is cutting the fruits.
Children are playing the games.
Sara is washing the pots.
Cutting, playing and washing are verbs.
ADVERB:

An adverb is a word that modifies or describes a verb.
E.g:
She always comes late.
Ali runs fast.
You wrote quickly.
Comes, runs, and wrote are Adverbs.
PREPOSITION:

A word used in place of a noun or a pronoun to form a phrase modifying another word in the sentence.
E.g: A letter was from my mother.
A cat is under the chair.
Sara is going to the market.
From, under, and to are prepositions.
CONJUNCTION:

A Conjunction joins words, phrases, or clauses.
E.g:
You and your sister are good companions.
She is intelligent but careless.
A fairy gave me a pen and vanished.
AND, BUT are Conjunctions. INTERJECTION:

An Interjection is a word used to express emotions.
Hurrah! we won the match.
Alas! he is dead.
Oh! she hurt herself.
Hurrah, Alas, and Oh are Interjections.
